EDINBURGH-PRINCESSTREET.COM
or PRINCES-STREET.COM is one
of a group of 'connected' websites by Chameleon Design covering
different areas in Edinburgh.
The first of these 'Edinburgh-Royalmile.com'
was launched in October 2005 and so far has attracted over 100,000
hits and over 120 participating businesses.
It has been archived by The National Library Of Scotland and has
gained No1. status in GOOGLE for amongst other commonly used keywords
'Places to Shop Edinburgh', 'Edinburgh Royal Mile', Royal Mile Places
to Shop, Places to Stay Tour Guides etc..)
In June 2006, after some publicity about The Royal Mile site, Chameleon
Design was approached to design a website for The George Street
Association.
Edinburghgeorgestreet.co.uk was launched
in Dec 2006. Although it has a different look to The Royal Mile
site, both share the same layout and colour coding to to identify
Shops, Restaurants, Accommodation, Businesses etc... Businesses
are ordered the same on the Street Maps, (by their physical location)
Users can click on any of the active links to go directly to a website
and navigate from street to street by clicking on the Street signs.
The formula has proven to be so successful that Chameleon Design
was commissioned and launched Beauchamp-Place.com
in London's prestgeous South Kensington in December 2008 .
It made sense to link up the George Street website
(North) with the Royal Mile site on the South side of Princes Street
Gardens and Princes-Street.com allows a seamless link between the
Old and New Town sites,
EDINBURGH-ROYALMILE.COM is connected to THE-GRASSMARKET.COM,
meaning visitors not only have several ways of finding these sites
via search engines, but they can also click and navigate from one
end of the town to the other. Effortlessly exploring a significant
part of both Edinburgh's Old and New towns, Street by Street and
accessing websites via active links.
